Thames Base Ball Club

Vintage base ball is very much alive in southeastern New England. New London’s vintage team is the Thames Base Ball Club, organized as a program of the New London County Historical Society in 2004.

Home matches are played at Fort Trumbull State Park according to the rules of 1861. For the 2010 season home games will be held:

Saturday, May 8                 BRISTOL, NEWTOWN (Three games; Start time 10am)

Sunday, June 6                        WATERBURY (Two games; Noon start)

Saturday, June 26                   COLUMBIA (Two games; 11am start) and Saturday,

September 11          CHARTER OAKS (old Hartford Dark Blues) (11am start)

If you are interested in playing with the team, come to a practice at Fort Trumbull State Park, most Thursday evenings beginning at 5:30.
